In eternity who's arms will cradle your child? What you teach them has a great bearing on their choices and their eternal destiny.

You may not think that what you say and do, whether or not you teach them of God matters much. Please don't let satan use this misconception to fool you. Your child's soul does depend on you. The bible says " Proverbs 22:1 A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favor rather than silver and gold. Proverbs 22:6 Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it." I am living proof of this. I was raised in a Christian home and knew right from wrong. But like all children I went through a rebellious stage. It took me a long time come back to God. I was almost 44 years old when I realized I needed God more than he needed me.

Though I was never a really bad child, I was a long way from living the life I had been taught. I am sure my family thought I'd never return. But here I am. Still not perfect but still trying. If you don't start when your children are young it's hard to make changes when they get older. Here a few days ago my 4 year old got his first paycheck for picking up pine cones. His grandmother explained to him that he should give God his part. My son not realizing he had to cash the check first tore it in half and brought me half. "This is God's part mom" he said as he proudly placed the piece of the check in my hand.

They learn not only to trust in God but how to be comfortable with God in their life. When he is an everyday part of their life they don't learn to be embarrassed by talking about God. They even learn a sense of security and humor. We were driving to a friends house the other day and my son suddenly gasped. "Mom I see God's house in the sky." I smiled and went on driving. Later that night I asked him what God's house looked like? His reply was" I don't know he had a out to lunch sign on his door." I looked at him and he giggled and said "I was joking!"

It is crucial to teach them while they are willing to learn. The morals you teach them now will go throughout life. They will serve them well when it comes their time to face eternity. Only you can make the impressions on them that they need. You either point them to God or you let someone else point them into satans hands.
